The Bavarian Dairy Industry Association (LVBM) pools the interests of organizations active in the dairy industry, coordinates dairy industry issues and promotes the sale of Bavarian dairy products. It also provides consumers and multipliers with information on products and nutrition. Jürgen Strobel is Chairman of the Bavarian Dairy Industry Association and is represented by Markus Bauer. Dr. Maria Linderer is the managing director of the association, which is based in the "Haus der Milch" in Munich, Ludwigvorstadt. Here, 14 employees work in the interests of milk; the LVBM offers trade fairs and exhibitions, consumer and multiplier information, sales promotion campaigns, brochures and instructions for gastronomy and retail, nutrition tips, events and press releases. The LVBM was founded on November 9, 1956 on the basis of the Milk and Fat Act, which is also the basis for its funding. Three working committees were established for consultations and opinions: Provincial Market Committee, Provincial Technical Committee and Provincial Advertising Committee. In the meantime, the work of the Provincial Market Committee and the Provincial Advertising Committee was taken over by the newly formed Economic Advisory Board.
