Neuland e.V.

"NEULAND - Verein für tiergerechte und umweltschonende Nutztierhaltung e.V." was founded in 1988 and is based in Bonn. The association has created the content-related and organizational prerequisites for establishing NEULAND as an independent branded meat programme. NEULAND was not founded as an organic program, but as a completely new concept. Standards for particularly species-appropriate animal husbandry have been set, which are now recognized by many institutions. The aim was and is to practice social, quality-oriented, animal-friendly and environmentally friendly animal husbandry with a high level of credibility and transparency on farms. The animals are purchased at a reasonable price, which secures the livelihood of the farms. After slaughter, they are sold on to NEULAND-affiliated butchers, canteen kitchens and restaurants. It is a special feature of NEULAND that it was not founded by the butcher or slaughter industry, but by five social associations, of which the "German Animal Welfare Association" (DTSchB), the "Association for the Environment and Nature Conservation" (BUND) and the "Working Group for Rural Agriculture" (AbL) still act as supporting associations today.
