Uniteis e.V.

Uniteis e.V. is the association of artisan Italian ice cream producers in Germany, founded in 1969. Registered are 1,000 artisan ice cream producers representing 2,200 ice cream parlors throughout Germany. The association is a member of national and European industry bodies and contributes to the promotion and protection of traditional, artisan Italian ice cream with qualified representatives. For two decades, it has managed the professional training of future ice cream makers in collaboration with the Veneto Region, the Istituto Veneto per il Lavoro and the Rhine-Main Chamber of Crafts in Frankfurt am Main. It promotes and signs agreements with institutions, insurance companies and analysis institutes approved and recognized by the German authorities in order to reduce costs for ice cream producers. It is committed to solving the various legal, trade union and social problems of its members in connection with the laws and regulations in force in Germany and Europe. It conducts market research and studies on new forms of distribution and business organization in relation to social changes, demographic change, the evolution of consumer habits and the development of new flavours and trends. The press office in Berlin promotes Italian artisan ice cream, its quality and genuineness, collaborating with national TV channels, press agencies, newspapers and specialized magazines and carrying out initiatives together with them. Promotional activities are carried out regularly with consumers and the relevant agencies through press releases, press conferences and newsletters. Every year, the photographic exhibition "The history of Italian gelato makers in Germany" is organized in collaboration with Italian cultural offices and institutes in Germany, enhancing the professional prestige of the trade and improving the image of artisan gelato makers in Germany. It proudly distributes the association's registered trademark, which is made available to affiliated ice cream parlors as a mark of the "Certified Italian Ice Cream Parlor".
