Each year BurdaNews GmbH elects Germany's best employers in a special edition of FOCUS magazine. According to the publisher the rating is based on objective, journalistic criteria and assessment by personnel within and outside the company. The KHS Group is thus in the best company; well-known system manufacturers such as Trumpf and Bosch are also among the top five.

Rolf Staab, head of the Central Human Resources Division at KHS, considers the accolade to be proof of a high degree of employee satisfaction. "We work for a good corporate culture every single day and give our employees many ways of making their contribution to KHS, helping them to feel at ease here." The systems provider manufactures filling and packaging systems for the beverage, food and non-food industries. No other company was given a better FOCUS ranking in this field. The award goes to the entire KHS Group with its German production sites in Dortmund, Bad Kreuznach, Worms, Kleve and Hamburg.

The company already won the Top 100 seal for innovation management in the middle of 2015, presented at the German SME Summit [Deutscher Mittelstands-Summit]. This makes KHS one of the top 100 innovators among SMEs in Germany.

KHS believes it is very important to create a climate within the company which encourages innovation. Certain groups of employees, for instance, are able to use 10% of their work time to develop their own ideas. Inventor compensation and premiums act as additional incentives and encourage personnel to make diverse suggestions for improvements and innovations. New methods, such as an internal crowdsourcing system, promote the joy of invention. The many topics covered by KHS campus, the further training platform for KHS employees, include personnel development courses on various innovation skills, such as seminars on creativity techniques and methodological skills.
