Food has a significant impact on our physical and mental health, on our well-being and, crucially, on our development opportunities. Development does not mean wanting to hold on to the way things were and are at all costs. Quite the opposite. We need to ask ourselves what we want to develop towards. Whatever the answer is - we need food for our development, which in turn lives and grows on the earth. To do this, we need to look after it carefully and shape it so that it is and remains humane. The W-E-G and its eight companies would like to make a contribution to this and are therefore taking the initiative together to produce food that is close to nature and suitable for humans, to refine it, to research it and to teach about this knowledge. W-E-G sees itself as a service provider for its subsidiaries. These are independent units, they act on their own initiative and their identity is based on their individual strengths. They are different and independent and yet have something fundamental in common: they are united by the goal of serving the development of people through their actions. As a place where the thoughts and skills of all contributors flow together and meet, the W-E-G is the supporting link of the W-E-G community. Based on this understanding, we also refer to the undertakings as "initiatives" of W-E-G. Food is close to our hearts. In food, nature gives us the life energy stored in it. We think it is good to remind ourselves of this every now and then so that we maintain our respect for food and gratefully acknowledge that it enables us to lead a physically and mentally healthy life. That's why we work to improve them in an appreciative, evolving and collaborative way.
