More Efficiency in Edible Oil Analysis
ICP-OES, AAS, Combustion Elemental Analysis and UV/ Vis Spectrometry in edible oil analysis
Hardly any agricultural product is as versatile as edible oils. Given the enormous production volumes, volatile and complex global supply chains and strict safety regulations, exporters, importers, refineries, and food companies need to quickly qualify supplies while ensuring compliant, seamless, and efficient monitoring of raw oil, intermediates, and finished products.
Laboratory equipment must enable short measurement times, minimum sample preparation and measurement procedures in accordance with international guidelines. In our E-Book, the analysis results of four well-established quantitative techniques: ICP-OES, AAS, combustion elemental analysis and UV/Vis –are presented and their suitability for different steps in the value chain are discussed. This includes chlorine, sulfur and nitrogen analysis in palm, soybean and several other edible oils, as well as molecular parameters analysis in palm oil. Furthermore, elemental analysis in edible oils with AAS or ICP-OES is discussed, with the goal to provide a decision help which technique is more suitable for your analysis task.
