The eraspec oil analyzer brings laboratory lubricant testing and condition monitoring directly to your machinery, your loading bay or your R&D laboratory, avoiding the delay and cost of sending samples to off-site laboratories. eraspec oil is also an integral part of eralab OCM, which offers a range of easy-to-use, rugged and accurate oil analyzers for in-house oil analysis. This compact, standalone FTIR spectrometer provides precise results, allowing professionals to make quick decisions to avoid operational downtime, wrong dispatch and issues during your blending process. 

The key advantage is having laboratory-level performance wherever needed. Having immediate results for contaminants like soot, water, glycol, or fuel dilution means that critical issues can be diagnosed and resolved immediately. However, monitoring key additives such as antioxidants and anti-wear additives also plays an important role in production, quality control, and validation prior to shipment or delivery.

With its focus on practical applications, this analyzer offers a solution to the daily challenges of fresh and used oil analysis across a wide range of industries. This includes manufacturers and developers of lubricants and certainly applies to quality control during transportation and at the ultimate industrial consumer. In an industrial setting, eraspec oil can therefore make a significant contribution to monitoring the condition of the oil in use and, consequently, the condition of the technical components.

The device features a built-in computer and internal memory capable of storing countless test reports. An integrated pump draws samples directly from a sample container. Unless there are exceptional product changes, there is no need to use solvents. 

Running a test requires only three steps: entering the sample ID, inserting the inlet tube, and pressing the run button.

The recently developed, unique triple-cell design is equipped with an exclusive 500 µm measurement cell alongside the standard 100 µm cell. The built-in reference cell completes the unique triple-cell. The broad measurement range of the 100 µm cell is seamlessly paired with the enhanced sensitivity of the 500 µm cell to master most demanding low-level analysis like water, ester and antioxidant additives with precision and confidence. 

Standard infrared spectrometers require operators to perform manual reference measurements, often using solvents to clean and flush. This analyzer automates the background measurement using the built-in reference cell, so the instrument is always ready for the next sample without manual interaction. 

Typical measurement parameters such as oxidation, nitration, sulfation, soot, or water, are determined automatically and according to predefined international standards including ASTM E2412, D7414, D7624, D7415, D7844, D6304, DIN 51453. Over the years, these classic parameters have been significantly expanded to include a wide range of additional results, some of which were calibrated in weight percent. Common methods such as direct trending and spectrum subtraction can be performed individually and easily.

On top, eraspec oil is equipped with different chemometric libraries for the calculation of complex oil properties. These libraries are available for various product groups. By selecting the appropriate library, various parameters - such as TAN, TBN - can be determined with a high degree of predictive accuracy.
