Nestled in a green sea of vines and the Palatinate Forest Nature Park, it is located in the small wine and sparkling wine town of Wachenheim on the German Wine Route, south of Bad Dürkheim, with a population of just under 5,000.

Sophisticated sparkling wine culture since 1888

Schloss Wachenheim has been the home of high-quality sparkling wine specialties since 1888. Here, at the end of the 19th century, Carl Joseph Wagner succeeded in transferring the high quality of bottle fermentation from champagne production to the first-class Riesling base wines of the Palatinate. Since then, the sparkling wine has matured in the depths of the cellar vault for at least nine months in the bottle to develop its fine effervescence.

Our castle is known as a cultural meeting place of a very special kind. Every year, numerous art and cultural events attract visitors from near and far, enchanting them with an extraordinary ambience and impressive experiences. Whether classical serenades, jazz concerts or culinary events: The sparkling wine cellar has become an important cultural attraction in the region.
