The 22nd iran agrofood in 2015 is moving towards a record participation

VDMA: German deliveries of food processing and packaging machinery to Iran more than doubled in 2014

24-Mar-2015 - Iran (Islamic Republic of)

According to VDMA German deliveries of food processing and packaging machinery to Iran more than doubled in 2014 whereas overall EU–trade with Iran increased by 21%. This upward trend is also reflected in the list of exhibitors of the 22nd edition of iran agrofood in 2015. Pavilions of French, German, Indian, Italian and Turkish companies in addition to technology leaders from 19 countries have registered. Reasons for the record participation are the great potential for manufacturers of foods and food-tec machinery and the revitalized Iran-business. The event is organized by the German trade show specialists fairtrade and their Iranian partners Palar Samaneh.

The prospects for business in Iran are extremely positive. Already during the 21st iran agrofood in June 2014 industry experts, exhibitors and visitors reported about a more buoyant business mood in Iran. Now the figures from Eurostat and VDMA confirm these impressions. The overall EU–trade with Iran increased by 21% in 2014, to 7.5 billion euros.

“And German deliveries of food processing and packaging machinery more than doubled in 2014” outlines Vera Fritsche of VDMA Food Processing and Packaging Machinery. “They increased from 23 million euros in 2013 to 49 million euros in 2014. Due to the sanctions many investments were postponed in recent years. The country needs to modernize its food and beverage industry, and to continue to expand it in order to meet the growing demand of the population for food and beverages. Iran offers great potential for manufacturers of food processing and packaging machinery.”

So it comes as no surprise that the organisers fairtrade and their Iranian partners Palar Samaneh announce a record participation at iran agrofood 2015. Pavilions of French, German, Indian, Italian and Turkish exhibitors in addition to technology leaders from 19 countries participate. The exhibitors come from Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Iran, Italy, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Oman, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
