Mitteldeutsches Zwiebelkontor markets onions throughout Europe all year round. Production is decentralized in healthy locations in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Marketing takes place centrally via the Mitteldeutsche Zwiebelkontor.

The area under cultivation in the catchment area of the Mitteldeutsches Zwiebelkontor in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia is approx. 1,500 ha.

State-of-the-art technology is available for production in a wide-ranging crop rotation. The latest techniques for soil cultivation, sowing and harvesting guarantee a consistently high product quality through careful handling of the onions. The wide crop rotation ensures the conditions for healthy production.

After careful harvesting, the onions are stored in warehouses with optimally suited drying and ventilation facilities. Climate-controlled special storage facilities for more than 65,000 tons are available for storage. State-of-the-art processing and sorting facilities ensure that only the best produce is delivered.

A modern and powerful logistics fleet ensures that the goods are delivered quickly. The use of thermo vehicles prevents moisture caused by temperature differences. Punctual delivery from the warehouse and on-time delivery to the customer is the top priority. In addition to winter onions and early-maturing onion sets, as well as large-scale summer onion production, quality onions from our own production are available from the beginning of July to the beginning of May. Red and white onions are gaining in importance. Thanks to international connections, onions from overseas can also be offered in the early summer months. This means that onions are available 365 days a year.
