31-Oct-2018 - France

Following a historic low in 2017, global wine production this year picked up sharply by twelve percent. According to a first estimate by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine, the winegrowers brought 282 million hectolitres into their cellars - after 251 million hectolitres in the previous year.
This is one of the best results since 2000, the organisation announced in Paris on Friday. As usual, however, there are large regional differences due to the weather.
