Energy drink maker Red Bull said it set its own records last year for revenue, sales and
operating profit. The Austrian company said Wednesday that group sales grew nearly 24 percent from 7.8 billion to 9.7 billion euros compared with 2021. It said 11.6 billion cans of Red Bull were sold worldwide, an increase of 18.1 percent. The company did not provide operating profit figures. The main reason for the positive results, it said, was the excellent sales performance in almost all markets. The company wants to expand especially in the core markets of Western Europe and the U.S., as well as in developing countries.
Following the death of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz in October 2022, the group is currently led by a three-person management team. The multiple billionaire held 49 percent of Red Bull, which passed to his son Mark after his death. At the end of 2022, the company, founded in 1984, employed 15,800 people in 175 countries./mrd/DP/mis (dpa)
