The Lower Austria Quality Laboratory is a competent service provider for the entire Austrian food industry.

We have been working as a privately organized company for Austrian food producers for almost 60 years. We currently employ almost 40 people, including 3 experts in accordance with § 73 of the Austrian Food Safety and Consumer Protection Act.

In 2010, we reached over 60,000 food samples and over 9,000 veterinary samples for the first time. This makes us the largest microbiological testing center in Austria in the area of food control. Our samples come from the following areas: Water, milk and dairy products, baby food, long-life potato products, tea and spices, fruit preparations, bread and baked goods, confectionery, ice cream, egg products, meat and meat products, ready meals as well as inspections of production facilities and environmental controls.

Thanks to our close cooperation with comparable inspection bodies in Europe, we have a good network at our disposal.
