Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan

The Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, a monastery brewery of the Benedictine monks almost a thousand years ago, then the Royal Bavarian State Brewery, is now a modern company managed by the Free State of Bavaria according to private-sector standards. As the oldest still existing brewery in the world, our brewery stands almost majestically in Freising on Weihenstephan Hill, surrounded by the comparatively young Weihenstephan Science Center of the Technical University of Munich. But it is precisely this unique combination of tradition and time-honored, proven knowledge and modern science that gives the brewery an incomparable identity and allows us to brew a wide variety of beers of the highest possible quality. And we are a little proud of that.
