The Coca-Cola Company Q3 Profit Retreats 4%

The Coca-Cola Company (KO) released earnings for third quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its earnings dropped to $2.15 billion, or $0.49 per share. This was lower than $2.23 billion, or $0.51 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.48 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 7.0% to $10.63 billion. This was down from $11.43 billion last year.
