Coca Cola FEMSA repeats "PLAZA DE LA CIUDADANÍA" initiative

Coca-Cola FEMSA carried out the second edition of “Plaza de la Ciudadanía” in Villahermosa, Tabasco, an initiative that promotes social and environmental well-being by offering free health, social and recreational services that, in collaboration with foundations, private initiative, state government and civil society, benefited about 500 people from the community of Atasta Park.

“We are proud to celebrate the second edition of this event alongside civil associations, state authorities and, above all, our community, to whom we thank for their trust and dedication as part of Plaza de la Ciudadanía initiative. Today we reaffirm our commitment to contribute to the welfare of the community through this great social fair. Our actions reflect our relentless dedication to satisfy the common good of our workers and consumers”, said Hezbal Hernández, Corporate and Government Affairs Executive of Coca-Cola FEMSA.

During the event, free consultations and workshops on personal hygiene, nutrition, pediatrics, environmental education, legal advice were provided, as well as physical and recreational activities for children. Plaza de la Ciudadanía is part of the initiatives through which Coca-Cola FEMSA, as part of the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry, endorses its social and environmental commitment for the benefit of the communities in which it operates.

Coca-Cola FEMSA maintains its commitment in the state of Tabasco. It currently generates 1,986 direct jobs and more than 15,500 indirect jobs. It operates through a plant in Ixtacomitán, 5 distribution centers in Cárdenas, Macuspana and Tenosique and 23,704 points of sale. In addition, as part of the National Plan for Reforestation and Water Harvest, from 2008 to 2018 it has planted 90,600 trees and reforested 138 hectares.
