MEGGLE fully integrates two cheese production sites into the group
New management for the Aurich and Wismar sites
Rücker GmbH in Aurich and Ostsee-Molkerei Wismar GmbH have been part of the MEGGLE Group since the beginning of January. All competition authorities involved approved the takeover by the traditional Upper Bavarian company with a 139-year history. From now on, the affiliation is now also visible in the company name: Since mid-June, the companies have been operating under the names MEGGLE Cheese Aurich GmbH & Co. KG and MEGGLE Cheese Wismar GmbH. The name change has no effect on the ownership structure or on the continued existence of the regional Rücker brand. Nevertheless, the MEGGLE brand is to become even more important in the cheese segment, both nationally and internationally.
The management of the two companies has also been restructured. It now consists of MEGGLE CEO Matthias Oettel, Markus Czeromin as Managing Director Operations – who was already Managing Director – and Caroline Zimmer as Managing Director Marketing & Sales.
Matthias Oettel, CEO of MEGGLE Holding SE, explains the motivations: “MEGGLE is one of the strongest brands in the food industry. Therefore, it is only logical for us to make greater use of this good image of a top brand.”
With this change of name, the two northern German production sites join the name changes that have already taken place within the group of companies. In recent years, the companies RAJO, Stegmann Emmentaler Käsereien and M-Back have already integrated the strong MEGGLE brand into their company names in order to make clear their affiliation with the MEGGLE Group both internally and externally.
