AMF BakeTech Expands Regional Facility

AMF BakeTech, a manufacturer of industrial bakery equipment, joinedGwinnett Chamber Economic Developmentto announce the consolidation and expansion of its regional manufacturing and engineering facility in Gwinnett County, metro Atlanta. The announcement represents 65 new jobs and $4 million in capital investment for the community.

“We have grown substantially over the past five years across three separate buildings. This move represents a strategic point for our business that is essential to our continued success,” said Kris Soderstrom, General Manager AMF BakeTech. “As we consolidate multiple facilities into one, we will now be able to further develop new products and operate more efficiently.”

AMF BakeTech Expands Regional Facility

AMF BakeTech, a subsidiary ofAMF Bakery Systems, designs and manufactures industrial bakery equipment, including ovens; conveyor systems; and continuous proofers, which provide accurate humidity control for dough during the fermentation process. AMF BakeTech will consolidate its three existing Atlanta facilities into a newly built, 63,000-square-foot building, expanding its footprint by more than 18,000 square feet. The LEED certified building, located at 5359 Royal Woods Parkway in the Royal Atlanta Business Park, will house the company’s engineering, operations, procurement, sales, and accounting departments.

With a solid network of manufacturing companies, as well as access to advanced research generated by our universities, I have no doubt that AMF BakeTech will continue to succeed in our state.”

AMF BakeTech’s products are used in the large-scale production of sliced bread, hamburger buns, hotdog buns, and other baked products worldwide. The company’s customers include supermarket bread makers and several fast food chains, including Bimbo Bakeries, Flowers Foods, and Sara Lee.

AMF Bakery Systems is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, with additional manufacturing operations located in Sherbrook, Canada and Tianjin, China. The company operates sales offices internationally in Mexico, Paraguay, United Kingdom, Netherlands, China, Singapore and United Arab Emeritus.
