BOAR Blackforest Premium Dry gin from the distillery of the same name in Bad Peterstal at the foot of the Black Forest has once again been named Gin of the Year. At Meininger's International Spirits Award (ISW), the Black Forest spirit prevailed against 300 competitors from all over the world, incidentally for the third time in a row, a first in this competition.

Already in 2019, BOAR Gin was awarded the title of Best of the Year, the following year it won Gold and now again the outstanding ranking in one of the most important spirits competitions in the world. "BOAR thus impressively underlines its class and stands for continuity at the highest level. Incidentally, its secret that makes it so harmonious is the use of Black Forest truffles in the botanical mix," says the organizer. The judges praise BOAR Gin as a "benchmark in the juniper thicket."
Meanwhile, the gold medals achieved at awards worldwide, including competitions in America and China, add up. "We are in the premier league with our London Dry Gins." And to keep it that way, "we have to do a lot to stay ahead."
At the competition in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, the spirits were judged not comparatively but individually on appearance, aroma and taste by a panel of experts without knowledge of the producer, according to the international 100-point scheme. The jury includes spirits experts, distillers and bar professionals. 46 gold and 40 silver medals were awarded. The standard of the competition is high, because qualities for bronze medals already no longer receive awards.
