AB InBev updates on the sale of Carlton & United Breweries to Asahi Group

Anheuser-Busch InBev previously announced on 19 July 2019that it hadagreed to sell its Australian subsidiary Carlton & United breweries (CUB) to Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. for 16 billion AUD, equivalent to approximately 11 billion USD. Today, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has granted its clearance of the proposed divestiture, a key step toward completing the transaction. AB InBev expects the transaction to close as soon as possible in the second quarter of 2020 after the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval process is completed.
