Metsä Group’s tissue and greaseproof paper business, Metsä Tissue, has once again achieved the highest Platinum rating in the EcoVadis sustainability evaluation, now for the sixth consecutive year. The achievement demonstrates Metsä Tissue’s continued strong commitment to sustainability practises and places the company in the top one per cent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis. Metsä Tissue’s overall score was 83, while the industry average for manufacturers of paper and paper products was 60.
In 2025 Metsä Tissue maintained high scores in all four categories: Environment, Labor & Human rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. The Ethics section, which scored the lowest last year, saw the most improvement this year, highlighting the unwavering importance of continuous development.
“A recognition achieved by the top 1% of companies assessed globally is something we are very proud of. Our continued top-tier rating highlights the consistency in our sustainability work, and achieving this result under increasingly demanding criteria reflects our commitment and the daily efforts of our teams and partners. I extend my sincere thanks to our internal and external stakeholders who have contributed to achieving this great result,” says Sari Pajari-Sederholm, CEO of Metsä Tissue.
Metsä Tissue is committed to advancing bioeconomy and circular economy by efficiently processing pulp made of northern wood into high-quality tissue and greaseproof paper products. Our sustainability goals drive continuous improvement and our trusted brands — Lambi, Serla, Mola, Tento, Katrin, and SAGA — bring these values to users across Europe.
EcoVadis is a global sustainability rating platform that assesses companies' performance under four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
