Asahi To Make An Offer For SABMiller's Peroni And Grolsch Brands: Yomiuri
Japanese beverage maker Asahi Group Holdings is planning to submit a bid next week to buy SABMiller PLC's (SAB.L) Peroni and Grolsch brands for as much as 400 billion yen, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported.
Last month, Brewers including Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. and buyout firms such as KKR & Co. are among those considering bids for SABMiller Plc's European beer brands, the Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter said.
On December 3, SABMiller has been informed by Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, known as AB InBev (BUD, AHBIF.PK) of its intention to explore the sale of a number of SABMiller's European premium brands in line with its commitment to promptly and proactively address potential regulatory considerations.
