Crystal Pepsi Returns As Limited Edition After 23 Years Off-shelf
The legendary drink, which was first introduced in 1992, was available only for a year before it was pulled from the shelves in 1993 after weak demand. The beverage is $1.79 for a 20-ounce bottle.
The company launched Crystal Pepsi for a limited time in Canada in July. The soft drink is now back after Pepsi responded to a plea of some 34,000 people, who signed a Change.org petition requesting its return.
Pepsi informed the beverage's reintroduction to Professional competitive eater Kevin Stahle in a Twitter message back in June last year. In December last year, Pepsi held a sweepstakes in which 13,000 lucky winners were chosen to receive a six-pack of Crystal Pepsi.
In the U.S., the drink will be available at hundreds of major retailers.
