Trader Joe's Expands Recall On Listeria Fears
Potential Listeria contamination has prompted ConAgra Foods to recall Watts Brothers Farms Organic Mixed vegetables, Organic Super Sweet Corn, Organic Peas, and Trader Joe's Organic Super Sweet Corn. U.S. food and Drug Administration said the recall is voluntary and there are no reports of infection from the recalled batch of food items.
The infection of Listeria monocytogenes can be fatal in people with a weakened immune systems, especially children, and elderly. When healthy people consume food items contaminated with Listeria they may suffer from fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, etc. In pregnant women the microbial infection may result in miscarriages and stillbirths.
